Chantal is a multi-instrumentalist from Espanola, ON who specializes in classical, jazz and popular music. She began studying piano at the age of nine years old, followed by trumpet and violin at age thirteen. Chantal began her post secondary musical studies at Laurentian University, and then furthered her learning at the University of Ottawa in more recent years.
Throughout her undergraduate degree Chantal performed in many ensembles including the Laurentian Concert Band, Sudbury Symphony and Northern Brass Choir. After graduating Laurentian University, she founded the Manitoulin RCSCC Sea Cadet Band on Manitoulin Island. While studying at Ottawa University she held a TA position for music theory and music history courses.
Chantal has been teaching for almost nine years. She teaches up to Grade 8 RCM and ARCT trumpet. Having taken both undergraduate and graduate level theory courses, Chantal has also gained an extensive music theory background and teaches theory as well.
With her vast array of musical experiences, Chantal is flexible and has a wealth of knowledge about both the educational side of music as well as the music scene, that she is happy to share with her students.
