Alex began playing drums in community Jazz bands at the age of 13, leading to performances at the Ottawa Jazz Fest, Toronto’s Beaches Jazz Fest and the Montreal Jazz Fest. He was a member of Canada’s National Youth Big Band, “Conn-Selmer Centerstage Jazz Band” in 2017. Alex has since graduated from Humber College’s Bachelor of Music program, where he studied under Larnell Lewis, Barry Romberg, Lorne Nehring and Don Vickery.
Alex has been teaching drums professionally for 2 years in styles ranging from Rock to Jazz. With 17 years of education, a decade of which with nationally and internationally recognized musicians and teachers, Alex brings a wide respect for various styles of music, and music pedagogy. Alex is keen to share his knowledge with others.
