Jarienne M.

Being raised in a Filipino household full of musicians, Jarienne has been immersed in music her entire life.

Jarienne officially embarked on her musical journey when she joined her hometown church choir at the age of 4. She started learning the piano at 5 years old. Through the mentoring of her teacher, Olga Peresnichenko, and the Royal Conservatory of Music’s standards and exams, Jarienne was taught the importance of discipline, perseverance and passion.

Jarienne started learning the violin classically through the Royal Conservatory of Music at 7 years old, which allowed her to improve her musical ear significantly. She also took lessons for music theory through the Conservatory to further enrich her musical knowledge.

At 16 years old, she became a piano and violin teacher at Miga Music, the local music school in her hometown. Jarienne has experience teaching people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors.

She has had the privilege of teaching young children and watching them flourish into avid musicians. Now, Jarienne continues her studies at uOttawa whilst pursuing her musical career here at Nepean School of Music.
